Luca's 1st Birthday
Today my little guy turns 23 months old! Meaning he's got one month left of being my little one year old and then he'll be a full blown 2 year old toddler! Where is the time going? I know people say that all the time but I'm really feeling time escape me - fast.

I wanted to share about Luca's 1st birthday sooner but better late than never right?
It's no secret that my heritage is Sicilian and I've always loved Vespas! So when I had to pick a theme I didn't hesitate to choose this. I'm actually bummed I didn't think of decorating his nursery Vespa themed too haha. My parents found the cutest Vespa in my favorite color for his birthday gift. So we decided to use them in his 1st birthday pictures. I'm obsessed!
I had to get creative with the décor and invitations since party city didn't have anything Vespa themed. Luckily, Etsy had some nice items for me to use and always good old Amazon lol. The invitations I ended up making myself on my cricut.
Luca's shirt was just a white t-shirt that I got on amazon and I had found patches that I glued onto his and my husband's shirts so they could match. Then for myself I was a little pregnant and was starting to show so I found a nice ruched skirt and paired it with a ciao bella t-shirt from J Crew.
The party was extra special too since we got the letter with the baby's gender and decided to also do a tiny gender reveal towards the end of the party. I can't say enough how special this was for our family. I feel grateful that we were able to give Luca such a special party. I hope that next year we can do the same for Aria, pending pandemic status. But let's be honest, moms, these parties are really for ourselves. It makes us feel so good to be able to give our kids something this special.
Luca's first year of life was an amazing experience for me. He was our first baby and made me a mommy. I will never forget the tears of joy I had when I first laid eyes on him and couldn't stop saying how much I loved him as the nurse laid him on my chest. He got to fly to California and Italy all before turning one. He met all his family in Italy. He made my world a whole lot crazier but a whole lot fuller. Now he's just the cutest big brother and his sister always stares and giggles at his sillliness. I just love my little guy.
